In Salem, New Hampshire, a multi-phase project connecting the community along an old, closed railroad has been erected as a healthier and environmentally-friendly alternative to driving. The Salem Bike-Ped Corridor is a 5.2 mile trail winding through the Town of Salem that connects to the Windam Rail Trail and, one day, to the larger Granite State Rail Trail. Thanks to federal and local funding, the basic trail engineering and construction as been covered. The Friends of Salem Bike-Ped Corridor believes that a public use recreational area deserves more. That’s where OH! Movement comes in! OH! Movement will help make the space more inviting with picnic tables, more beautiful with landscaping and more functional with a water bottle filling station. Once complete, the residents of Salem can celebrate the Salem Bike-Ped Corridor and all its trail enhancements.
